Between the blue sea and blue sky of Hainan Clearwater Bay, two distinctly styled yet complementing hotels – Kimpton and Indigo, are reshaping the new heights of seaside vacations with unique lifestyle concepts and exquisite spatial languages. As highly recognizable lifestyle brands under InterContinental, they not only embody the utmost pursuit of design and experience but also convey the warmth and soul of the brand through every detail.
Behind this, COSUN infuses coherence and a sense of order into the entire project with a professional, precise, and aesthetically dynamic signage system, achieving a visual and functional spatial narrative.
1. Kimpton Hotel – The Gentleman’s “Design Theater”
Kimpton Hotel integrates contemporary art with resort style, constructing a “design theater” that resonates socially and sensorially. COSUN systematically creates a full set of signs including guest room corridor directions, public restrooms, conference rooms, therapy rooms, and more, centered around its spatial flow and functional areas. The signage design is understated and refined, with meticulous material selection, inheriting the hotel’s understated elegance.
In vibrant spaces such as the infinity pool, rum bar, and esports center, we enhance guests’ recognition efficiency and sensory experience through position-accurate wayfinding systems and materials with design flair. Each sign not only guides guests but also subtly conveys the artistic temperament of the hotel brand.
2. Indigo Hotel – The Oceanic Secret Chamber of Neighboring Culture
As Hainan’s first lifestyle boutique hotel inspired by neighboring cultures, Hainan Clearwater Bay Indigo Hotel opens a deep dialogue about island culture from a unique regional perspective. The hotel delves into the local culture of Clearwater Bay, creating a story-rich spatial atmosphere with imagery of pearls, shells, mountain lan liquor, and palm fronds.
COSUN undertakes the full signage project of the hotel from the lobby to guest rooms, from the neighborhood restaurant to the elevator hall, extending the visual language of the design concept “Illusory Ocean Secret Realm,” interpreting the rhythm of the ocean and the warmth of neighborly relations through customized shapes and mixed materials.
3. Garden Signage – The Art of Guidance Integrating Nature and Culture
In addition to the hotel’s internal spaces, the signage system in the garden area is also an indispensable part of the overall experience. Whether it’s freestanding pedestrian guidance signs or wall-embedded SPA location signs, they seamlessly integrate into the natural landscape in a simple and elegant form, maintaining functionality without disrupting overall aesthetics.
COSUN has created a comprehensive and detailed signage system for the garden environment of the Clearwater Bay dual-brand hotels, covering categories such as entrance scene wall signage, vehicular/pedestrian guidance signage, pool rules announcements, and watch your step prompts.
These signs are not just guides to paths but also regulators of spatial emotions. They quietly exist between green trees and flower shadows, safeguarding the tranquility and comfort of every stroll with their understated presence, creating a harmonious, orderly, and ceremonial vacation environment for guests.
