Seven o’clock in the morning, the city has not fully woken up.
The streets are quiet, and footsteps sound exceptionally clear in the air.
Setting off at this time is not merely to complete a ritual.
Rather, it is because there are people who need to be seriously accompanied on such a morning.

In 2025, COSUN collaborated with the Shenzhen Blind Association,
to organize and launch the “Charity Guide Running” initiative.
This is an ongoing public welfare project,
and a long-term practice on “how to truly accompany others.”

About the Shenzhen Blind Association
The Shenzhen Blind Association is one of the five specialized associations supervised by the Shenzhen Disabled Persons’ Federation. The association actively fulfills the functions of “representation, service, rights protection, and supervision,” and conducts training and consultation on rehabilitation, education, employment, poverty alleviation, social security, and disability prevention for visually impaired people, in accordance with the association’s charter and strategic plan.

The original intention for doing this was actually not complicated.
For many years, COSUN has continuously participated in the construction of urban public spaces,
where the design and production of Braille signage have always been an important component.
In this process, we primarily acted as “professional providers,”
understanding the usage needs of the visually impaired population in the city.
But precisely because of this, we gradually realized:
Beyond signage, we began to consider,
whether there was a more direct way to connect with the visually impaired community.

In 2025, we decided to transform the knowledge accumulated over the years,
into a more concrete practice that is closer to visually impaired individuals.
Thus, charity guide running became the starting point.
Using one-on-one companionship to build trust;
Using continuous action to make companionship truly happen.

From April to December 2025,
the charity guide running takes place once a month,
continuing on Sunday mornings.
Each event involves 5–7 volunteers,
paired one-on-one with visually impaired runners.
With the professional support of the Shenzhen Blind Association,
volunteers receive basic training before setting off.

Learning communication methods, guide running protocols, and safety essentials.
Subsequently, a tether connects the two individuals together.

There is no “leading,” only running side by side;
There are no speed requirements, only mutual confirmation.
Warming up, starting the run, adjusting breathing, slowing the pace.

On the track, volunteers use their voices to confirm direction,
and use their steps to convey the rhythm;
visually impaired runners, in turn, respond to this companionship with trust.

During these two hours and more, the hustle and bustle of the city is shut out,
what remains is the tacit understanding gradually formed between the footsteps.

After the run, everyone stretches and communicates together,
then safely escorts the visually impaired runners back to the subway station,
completing the handover with the staff.

The event ends, but the companionship has not been “paused”—
it will happen again at the same time next month.
For COSUN, charity guide running is not a one-time expression of goodwill,
but a corporate group charity event incorporated into long-term planning.

Thank you to all the volunteers who participated,
it is you who, with one morning after another,
exchanged for the confident steps taken by others;
it is you who made “companionship,” “trust,” and “walking together”
stop being mere slogans and truly happen.

Thank you to the Shenzhen Blind Association,
it is your long-term and professional dedication,
that provides a solid foundation for this companionship.
From organizational coordination to professional guidance,
the smooth execution of every guide run,
Behind all this is your continuous and meticulous dedication.

Some say that true public welfare slowly reveals itself over time.
It does not need to be repeatedly emphasized, but it is worth long-term persistence.

In the future, COSUN will continue to work hand in hand with the Shenzhen Association of the Blind, to continue this journey of accompanying runners—

Not for speed, not for applause,
but only for a certain morning in this city,
when someone is willing to take the rope and walk alongside another pair of feet, moving in the same direction.

Navigating for love, walking with you.
This is the reason for setting out time and time again,
and it is also the direction COSUN consistently adheres to.
