Project Name: Zhuhai Hengqin Port
Time: 2023
The Hengqin Port and Comprehensive Transportation Hub Development Project with a total investment of 26 billion RMB, excluding the Joint Inspection and Customs Clearance Building, also includes the U-ramp of the viaduct, municipal roads, the renovation of the Lotus Bridge and the underground comprehensive pipeline corridor. The most difficult part of the whole project is constructing the ramp bridge of the Lotus Bridge.
Hengqin Port — Integrated Wayfinding & Digital Signage Solution
COSUN designed and delivered a comprehensive wayfinding and digital signage system for Zhuhai Hengqin Port, combining durable exterior signage, interior directional systems and networked digital displays to support 24/7 customs, passenger flows and public information across the new transportation hub.
Project Overview
-
Client / Location: Hengqin Port, Zhuhai, Guangdong, China.
-
Scope: Integrated static signage, illuminated exterior ID letters, directional systems, indoor digital displays and centralized content management across the port complex and transport hub.
-
Context: Hengqin Port is a large new integrated transport hub developed to serve the Greater Bay Area, with major infrastructure and mixed-use development around the terminal. COSUN’s solution supports the port’s 24/7 clearance and passenger service goals.
Challenges
-
High passenger throughput & multi-modal transfers — clear, fast wayfinding for passengers transferring between ferry, bus and customs.
-
Exterior reliability & visibility — large illuminated ID & facade lettering had to be clear by day and night, salt/sea-air resistant.
-
Accurate, real-time information — digital signage needed to deliver schedule, customs announcements and emergency messages across zones.
-
Fast delivery & on-site coordination — complex civil interfaces (ramps, viaducts, concourses) required close integration with contractors and local authorities.
COSUN SIGN Solution

Integration & Delivery
-
Phased installation to match civil works and traffic flow, with testing in-situ for sightlines, daylight readability and nighttime contrast.
-
Handover included site training and a technical manual for routine maintenance and spare-parts lists.
Technical
